Description and details
Diving on the Blue Pearl liveaboard in Egypt
Vessel Features
Blue Pearl is a luxurious boat that was manufactured in 2003. It measures 36 meters long and 8 meters wide, perfect to accommodate a maximum of 20 guests in its 10 spacious cabins. Just recently, Blue Pearl was completely renovated to ensure that all facilities are up-to-date, perfect for every guest’s needs.
The air-conditioned salon is the perfect place to be for every guest’s chit chat and entertainment sessions. In between dives, during night time, late-night talks, or anytime they prefer, guests may enjoy the entertainment systems installed in the salon including a modern television, computer, DVD, stereos, and a lot more. Plus, a mini library is available and the internet connection is free. Comfort is also not an issue as the salon is equipped with large, comfortable sofas, tables, and chairs for everybody’s convenience.
For guests who want to chase the sun, they may stay at the featured sun decks located at the lower and upper deck. There are sun loungers, tables, and chairs installed so guests will surely be relaxed while having their vitamin sunshine on board. Not to mention the soothing breeze of the Red Sea and the magnificent sight to behold.
Also, divers will enjoy the spacious dive deck that is equipped with a dive platform. The deck is expansive to provide space for the divers in preparing their gears or maintaining them after their dive. Charging ports for gadgets, hang area for wet suits, storage boxes for equipment, and freshwater showers are all available. Nitrox is free and equipment rental and courses are also available.
In Blue Pearl, safety is also not an issue. The boat is equipped with accredited safety equipment including a fire alarm system, fire fighting equipment, DAN oxygen kit, life jackets, and 2 life rafts that could accommodate up to 25 persons each. There are also fire extinguishers installed in each cabin and in the salon.
The Cabins
Blue Pearl houses 10 spacious cabins that are each large enough for two. There are 8 cabins installed with twin sized beds located in the lower deck, and 2 cabins equipped with double sized beds located in the upper deck. All cabin is equipped with air conditioning units and en suite bathroom facilities.
Dining
Guests may enjoy international cuisine in a buffet style for their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dining area is situated in a good spot on the vessel, designed to let the guests enjoy the stunning view of the Red Sea with a panorama while having their sumptuous meals. Also, selected snacks and drinks including coffee, juice, mineral water, tea, and bottled soft drinks are also offered throughout the day at no extra costs. For guests who would like to have their beer, wine, or mixers served, they may ask for it for a fee.
Itinerary
Beginner and intermediate certified divers may take the Southern route, which includes the St. John’s. It is famous for its colorful reefs and the variety of marine species, as well as for its caves and mountains. Guests may also feat on the sight of hammerheads if they are lucky.
In the Northern part of the Red Sea is where the majority of divers with advanced certification prefer to go. Although the tide here is extreme, the sites are worth visiting. There are world-renowned shipwrecks in the site, including the famous Thistlegorm, which sank in World War II. There is also the Abu Nuhas cemetery, a group of shipwrecks situated in different depths. Another is the famous triangle, where the Brothers Islands, Daedalus, and Elphinstone can be found; the former is celebrated for the colorful reefs lining its borders, which attracts a rich variety of marine species.
