Description and details
Diving on the Akomo Isseki in Indonesia
Akomo Isseki – explore massive species in the underwater world with the stylish liveaboard
The exceptionally stable wooden schooner was handcrafted by the Konjo builders on the Tanah Beru beaches. The best tropical hardwoods were taken from Kendari forest in crafting the boat. It is 27 meters (approx. 89 feet) long Sulawesi schooner, which provides dive safari adventures to the most gorgeous dive sites of Indonesia. The itineraries of Akomo Isseki include Komodo, Banda, Rinca and Raja Ampat. While diving in these sites, you can get a chance to explore a great number of small to large fish species, corals (soft and hard) along with the mangrove sites. At the dive site of Banda, you can get a chance to witness the guest appearance of exclusive hammerhead sharks. Whereas, the presence of Komodo dragons at Komodo National park is a lifetime thrilling experience.
Boat Interior – crafted by Sulawesi carpenters to provide cruising in traditional style
The epitome interior of the elegant liveaboard reflects the Indonesian culture and artistic skills of the dexterous carpenters. There are 4 spacious cabins which provide eminent facilities to 8 guests. Kendoli and teak wood is used in the crafting of the cabins. Each cabin has an individual en-suite bathroom, wardrobe, reading desk with chair and portholes to provide the astonishing vistas of the surroundings. It attempts to be an eco-friendly liveaboard with solar panels installed. The large sundeck has ample space for the guests to enjoy their sunny afternoons.
Deck Area – enjoy the beautiful archipelago and turquoise blue water
The large main deck has a dive deck with a dive platform. Divers can plunge into the depth of the sea under the supervision of a divemaster. Non-divers can spend their time on the communal areas which include a dining area and partially covered dive deck. You can enjoy the incredible sunrise and sunset with fresh sea breeze or gaze at the starling sky at night on the bean bags and lounges.
Food and Entertainment
Each day on Akomo Isseki is fun-filled and adventurous. There are many land excursions where you can have a live barbecue prepared by the expert chef. The indoor salon is equipped with modern technologies including a TV projector, audio-visual entertainment, DVDs, mini-library for the bookworms who seek relaxation in the world of words and much more. Guests of the luxurious Akomo Isseki are served with a fresh and new menu every day. Western and Indonesian cuisines are presented in buffet style three times a day. There are a variety of snacks, tea, coffee and beverages which are available all day long to make sure no one onboard stays hungry. The divers who are on special medication or food allergy (if any) are also served on special request.
When to go
If you are planning your trip to the diver’s paradise Raja Ampat, then November to April are the best months. You can experience the most bio-diverse diving along with the encounter of Wobegon sharks, nudibranch galore, manta rays and much more. Whereas, April – November is considered best according to the climatic condition for diving in Komodo and surrounding islands.
