You might not pay that much attention to your toiletry bag. As long as you have a separate room for your hygienic needs, you’re good. But like everything else, there’s no point investing in a product that’ll leave you after a couple of uses.

The simply-named, Small Wash Pouch by Peak Design is sure to last with its 200D nylon shell, DWR coating, weatherproof zips, and tough seams. The small storage space might not be for everyone, but its high quality of craftsmanship and design is something you can’t deny.

Construction and Design

Made to complement their bags like the Peak Design Travel Backpack 45L, Small Wash Pouch also has a minimalistic look. They’re also available in the same colorways, Black and Sage.

This small toiletry bag from Peak Design is one of the most durable you’ll find out there. With a 200D nylon shell, you can relax that it will stick through your travels for a long time. It’s got better fabric than the hiking backpack Deuter Aircontact Lite 65+10 with only a 100D nylon shell.

Peak Design Small Wash Pouch has high water- and tear resistance you can rely on, paired with DWR coating to ensure that all your essentials stay protected from any weather condition.

For the zips, just like all their packs, Peak Design used their signature #8 UltraZip in this toiletry bag. We know how irritating faulty zippers are, and we were a bit worried since we like YKKs. UltraZips proved to be easy to use. They need a bit of prepping, zipping it open and close a few times, and they’re good. The same thing we experience with Peak Design Travel Backpack 45L. We also love the heavy-duty stitching using UHMWPE thread- also known for its excellent tear- and crack resistance.

Even though it’s got sturdy construction, this toiletry bag comes with a lifetime warranty (though it’s highly likely you’re already satisfied after years of usage before you might even need to avail it).

Features

First off, the built-in hook makes this Peak Design toiletry bag easy to use. It’s not always that there’s a dry surface for your pouch so that you can hang it instead. And we think this is a compromise since its cut causes it to topple over while the zips are closed. You can stow it away in the back pocket when you don’t need it.

You’ll also notice that there’s a little grab handle at the front. It’s very low-key, hiding as an overhang, and you can slip your fingers instead of using your entire hand when holding this small Peak Design toiletry bag. It lacks depth, so we still found ourselves having the traditional way on our palms.

Now, Small Wash Pouch provides you with clamshell-like access. They added side gussets to stop your items from spilling. The opening isn’t as wide as a clamshell, but it’s wide enough for you to see everything inside.

Peak Design ensures that the Small Wash Pouch comes to you with robust construction and modern sleekness. And even though there are minor drawbacks, you won’t even complain about it since the overall value of its build returns multi-fold your investment.

Storage

You can sneak in your hygienic supply for a weekend trip with its one-liter capacity. And if you’re a real light packer, a week’s work of the basics can squeeze in.

When you open this small toiletry bag from Peak Design, the mesh divider is the first to catch your attention. It’s got TPU coating, giving it a silicone-like texture and creating four different rooms. The side compartments are good bulky items like small canisters, while the remaining lengthy rooms can keep your razor, roll-on deo, pen perfumes, and a small comb.

Small Wash Pouch also has a Peak Design signature magnetic-locked pocket dedicated for your toothbrush (apparently). Not all regular toothbrushes can fit here. It’s a bit small. But if you own a folding travel toothbrush, you’ll have plenty of spare room here.

On the other side, there’s a zippered lining pocket. Extras like a nail clipper and mini brow trimmer can sit safely in this compartment.

Summary

Small Wash Pouch might sound a little overpriced for around fifty bucks. Now, if you don’t mind the tag for unquestionable durability, then this is for you. If you own Travel Backpack 45L, this toiletry bag is the ideal complement.

You get a time-saving organization that doesn’t require additional unfolding or unrolling effort like other toiletry bags. It’s pretty small, but the room is enough for your basics.

With a Small Wash Pouch, you’re paying for the excellent overall quality that you won’t find in sub-twenty bucks toiletry bags.
