Diving on the Tortuga in Cuba


The 34 meters (approx. 110 feet) liveaboard Tortuga is a capacious and bizarre immobile hotel, which is not less than a floating house. The double-deck steel-hulled houseboat is set in a stationary position, as she is safely anchored and make an efficient base for all type of divers. it offers limited movement in the water and has amazing stability, which is an ideal option for those who are prone to motion sickness. It is purposely designed by keeping divers in mind. The stationary floating houseboat offers amazing dives in which the diver can meet the prominent residents like Silky sharks, Reef sharks, Lemon sharks, Blacktip sharks, large Hammerhead, and Nurse sharks. The prodigious conservation of the underwater park is due to the small number of people allowed dive in the phenomenal waters; Jardines de la Reina welcome only a maximum of 900 divers each year. it offers 6-night stay and transported from the Cuban Port by the speed boat to the anchored dive resort Tortuga

Boat Interior

The steel-built floating resort Tortuga is large enough to host a maximum number of 18 guests in 8 cabins. From these 8 cabins, 2 have a quad capacity with 2 bunk style beds. 5 standard cabins feature 1 bunk bed and a lower single bed. The last cabin of the houseboat offers a double bed. Each stateroom offers vital necessities including individually controlled AC, storage area to keep the belongings and en-suite bathroom with freshwater showers. Spacious outdoor lounge, dining area, and indoor salon are the communal areas of the boat, which offers pleasant seating arrangement to spend the time in-between dives.

Deck Area

A large dive deck of the stationary liveaboard has enough space for a diver to comfortably prepare for an action-packed dive. there are plenty of dive gear storage and rinsing tanks. Full gear rental can be arranged but it is always suggested to bring your own. The cozy outdoor lounge offers two areas for sitting. They are well-furnished with comfortable chairs with tables so that you can enjoy the striking Caribbean sun rays.

Food and Entertainment

There is an indoor dining room, which is fully air-conditioned. Here, you can enjoy 3 scrumptious meals per day throughout the trip. The menu of the meal is a perfect combination of Continental, Italian, Cuban and fresh seafood, which is presented in a buffet style. The foredeck and afterdeck are the perfect spots on the liveaboard to relax and enjoy cheesy pizza appetizers, chilled cocktails, and a Cuban cigar before dinner. WiFi is available via a satellite on the liveaboard Tortuga. Guests will need their own WiFi-enabled device to enjoy access.
