Diving on the SS Thorfinn in Micronesia

SS Thorfinn

The 58 meters (approx. 186 feet) steel-hulled liveaboard, SS Thorfinn offers world-class wreck diving at the exclusive dive destination of Micronesia. The fervent divers of any level can get an opportunity to explore more than 30 wrecks in a week with the phenomenal vessel. The dive spots of Truk Lagoon are famous for offering unique wreck diving. In 1944, the US army destroyed around 70 ships and 400 aircraft, which sunk at the bottom of this region. Most of the wrecks of the sunken ship and are still in the original structure. After so many years, they have transformed into natural reefs with vibrant corals that attract an abundance of fish species.

Boat Interior

The magnificent liveaboard SS Thorfinn can accommodate 22 divers in 11 stylish cabins. Each cabin has separate air conditioning with a temperature control system, flat-screen LED TV, DVD, cabinets, and wardrobe. Daily housekeeping and room service are offered throughout the stay. The standard cabins feature double and a single bed located. These 5 cabins are located on the lower deck and can be shared with fellow travelers onboard. On the main deck, there is one cabin with a queen-size bed. This cabin is slightly bigger in size as compared to other cabins onboard. the cabins, which are located on the upper deck offers shared facilities. the communal areas include an indoor lounge, dining area, mini-library, bar, and a spacious sundeck.

Deck Area

SS Thorfinn has a spacious dive deck, which is well-equipped with all necessary facilities that make divers prepare comfortably for their dives. There is plenty of sitting arrangement and storage boxes to keep their belongings. Nitrox is also available for the EANx certified divers. The diver can rinse and maintain their equipment from the rinsing tank and have a quick freshwater shower after the action-packed dive. Guests of the lavish vessel can spend their time in-between dive on the spacious sundeck, which offers pleasant seating arrangement with plenty of sun loungers and stylish chairs. You can enjoy your own solitude in the astonishing vistas of the surrounding or socializing with fellow divers.

Food and Entertainment

The dining room of the SS Thorfinn invites the travelers together during the mealtimes. Here, they can enjoy the delicious food presented in a buffet style. A variety of Italian, local and International menu is there to surprise you daily. Guests suffering from food allergies or dietary restrictions are catered too with prior request. The indoor lounge of the liveaboard has many entertaining facilities, which engage the travelers to pass their time during the traveling hours. When to go

Diving at Truk Lagoon is possible 365 days a year as it offers suitable diving conditions for the divers in terms of climate and water temperature. Water temperature ranges from 29-30 degrees C during the months of January to April.
