Ghani - Review 2023

The Ghani liveaboard is part of the Dune fleet. It was built in 2003 and renovated in 2015 and it has complete safety equipment to ensure everyone’s safety. Its name derived from the science fiction novel of the same name written by Frank Herbert. This vessel offers a wide range of itineraries including St. Johns, Fury Shoals, and Daedalus. The safari covers the famous dive sites in Egypt like the Brothers Islands and Elphinstone. The fantastic underwater landscapes, reefs and abundant marine life are waiting for exploration. The Ghani liveaboard and crew are always ready to welcome guests to its spacious and comfortable cabins throughout the year.

Diving on the Ghani in Egypt

This vessel has complete amenities that meet the needs of all passengers. The crew prioritizes safety and comfort. The Ghani has a length of 29m by 7.5m and it has a speed of 10 knots. This yacht is a great budget option to enjoy the underwater scenery that the Red Sea offers.

Boat Interior

The Ghani can accommodate a total of 22 guests to its spacious and comfortable cabins. There is one suite available on board. At the lower deck, there are six twin cabins along with the suite and four twin cabins on the upper deck. Each cabin has air-conditioning, private bathroom and ample storage space for luggage.
The entertainment area is complete with a A/V entertainment area where guests can enjoy watching the latest movies. It has an indoor dining area and a saloon that are fully air-conditioned. A partly covered sun deck is there to enjoy the ocean view and the sunset after a day of diving.

Restaurant

The chef on board will surely delight passengers’ taste buds with a wide range of local and international cuisine. Guests will enjoy the buffet-style meals and complimentary drinks as well as the snacks. There is an excellent selection of wine and beer available on board. For special dietary requests, guests may add this information to their booking form. We advise limiting these requests to food allergies and religious beliefs.

Dive Deck

The deck has a spacious area for each diver. There are tanks and a place to storage the diving equipment. Rinse hoses are available for maintaining all underwater equipment. Guests may provide their rental needs on the booking form and pay on board. Nitrox is available for those certified divers for free. The Ghani also has all the essentials for any emergency.

Itinerary

Fury Shoal is a pleasant area for beginners and advanced divers. There are areas with a depth range of 30m for those who are into tech diving. This reef is a nice place to see hammerhead sharks. St. John’s is a cluster of small reefs with the most spectacular underwater marine life. St. John is a nice place to see silvertip sharks, hammerhead sharks, soft corals crowded with snappers, butterfly fish and barracudas. There is also an area where shallow cracks open up into small caverns. The Elphinstone is a standalone reef on the Red Sea. This reef is also famous for the oceanic whitetip shark and the hammerheads. Everyone can visit Egypt all year round to explore the Red Sea.
