The MV Galatea has been operating since 1987 and most recently renovated in 2013. It has a length of 98ft/30meters and a beam width of 20ft/6.2meters. You will find ample spaces to move freely on the Galatea with many relaxation areas. The MV Galatea can reach a top speed of 12 knots and cruising speed of 10 knots. These speeds are obtained by using a Caterpillar 335 HP engine. The Galatea is an elegant looking liveaboard that will take you to some of the best diving destinations in the Seychelles.

Diving on the Galatea in Seychelles
Galatea liveaboard
This luxurious sailing yacht brings all the comforts of home to the open seas in a wonderful liveaboard experience. You will venture into the silky smooth waters of Seychelles and discover various wrecks, coral reefs, marine life, drop-offs, and pinnacles. Each day you will discover something new hidden in the underwater sanctuaries of Seychelles. All of the dives will take place from tenders as some of the locations aren’t suitable for a liveaboard.
Interior and entertainment areas
This liveaboard was fully renovated during 2012 and 2013. The MV Galatea has enough space to accommodate up to 16 passengers in seven stylish cabins. All of the cabins have en-suite facilities and have individual climate control. There are six doubles cabins to choose from and one master suite that is on par with 5-star hotel accommodation.
Relaxation & leisure areas on the Galatea
The salon is the go-to place for relaxation and entertainment onboard the Galatea liveaboard. You will find a flat-screen TV, DVD and stereo system in the salon. There is also an elaborative library that you can use to catch up on your reading.
There is also plenty of vitamin D on offer on the aft deck and also on the upper deck. You will find various soft loungers and comfortable pillows located throughout the deck areas. What’s more, there are two bar areas located indoors and outdoors that is perfect for a nightcap.
Dive deck on the liveaboard
The Galatea has a spacious dive deck that allows for divers to freely move around. There are two tenders located on this vessel from which diving will take place. The drop-down dive deck will give you easy access to the water for easy exiting and entering the water. The dive staff will always be on standby to give you a helping hand getting in and out of the water.
Food on the liveaboard
The majority of meals will be served al fresco style with chairs and tables situated outside to accommodate all guests. The cuisines served will be a mixture of international and Local Creole food. These meals will be served three times a day and consist of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can also various snacks served throughout the day from fruit platters, sandwiches, savory foods, and finger snacks.
Itinerary on the MV Bilikiki
The Galatea will give you a once in a lifetime experience across the Indian Ocean more specifically in the heart of the archipelago in Seychelles. A normal dive itinerary will last seven nights and you are guaranteed a comfortable and safe stay onboard the liveaboard.
