The Discovery Cruise Ship was built in 2004 and is considered one of the best liveaboards in the Panama region. It has a length of 108ft/33meters and a beam width of 31ft/9.75meters. This liveaboard has a cruising speed of 15 knots and can reach an incredible top speed of 18 knots. The Discovery Cruise Ship reaches these amazing speeds due to its 2 x Detroit diesel mtu series 60 740 hp engines. What’s more this liveaboard has a waster capacity of 6000L and can make up to 500L of fresh water every day.

This fantastic cruise ship is the perfect vessel for divers of all levels. You will find that the boat is designed to give you a visual experience with floor to ceiling windows. There is also a wide range of communal areas like the salon, lounge, and sundeck The crew will always be around to lift your spirits and give a helping hand where needed. Dive itineraries on this vessel will usually last 6 nights and will take you to sights like Pearl Islands, Panama Canal, and Gatun Lake.
Interior and entertainment areas
The Discovery Cruise Ship has the capacity to accommodate up to 24 guests in 12 stylish cabins. All of the cabins have individual climate control and en-suite bathroom facilities like hot and cold showers. The cabins also offer large wall windows where you can spend your time looking out on the ocean in the privacy of your cabin.
Relaxation & leisure areas on the Discovery Cruise Ship
There are many leisure activities that will keep you entertained and relaxed while you are cruising on the Discovery liveaboard. The sun deck is the place to go for guests who want some relaxation and who want to work on their tan. You can also spend your time in the lounge that offers 270-degree views of the seas and surrounding areas. The dining area is also located on this deck and most meals will be served here. Moreover, the bar area has complimentary alcoholic beverages served on a daily basis. On some days the chef will throw some meat on the barbeque on the deck areas for an alfresco meal.
Dive deck on the liveaboard
The Discovery Cruise Ship has a large dive deck that can be lowered down to make exiting and entering the boat more easily. You will be able to snorkel or do some kayaking from the dive platform. It can also be used as a fishing platform for all those budding fishermen/fisherwomen.
Food on the liveaboard
The food options on the Discovery Cruise Ship are as abundant as the fish in the Panama oceans. You will be served up to three meals a day that will be internationally and locally inspired. Moreover, the chef will also prepare a barbeque for al fresco dining at its best.
Itinerary
With this cruise ship you will be exploring the best sites in the Panama region. Some of the itineraries will take you to places like Portobelo, Darien Jungle, Panama City, Panama Canal and the Pearl Islands. A normal dive itinerary will last 6 nights through the beautiful scenery of Panama.
