It is a small galvanized box anchor ideal for boats measuring 18 feet – 30 feet long and for cabin cruisers with a maximum length of 24 feet. The box anchor has flukes that easily dig into softer bottoms and it is easy to pull up too. These types of anchors also don’t require as long a rode as other kinds do.
The Slide is available in powder coated versions to resist rust, which is nice.
Regardless of water conditions this works for small to medium vessels.
Our Overall Review
We have thoroughly tested - and read reviews from other experts and users. In summary, this is what we think:
Things we like:
-
Toss the anchor overboard and it will settle within 1 foot where it lands
-
Easy to retrieve, fold and store
-
Don't need a long rode
-
Don't need a rode chain either
Things we don't like:
-
Not so good for rocky bottoms
