Boaters looking for an aluminum craft that can multitask on the water should check out the SeaArk 2072 VJ. This is an adaptation of SeaArk boats existing mod-V Jon boat, which they’ve remodeled to a 15º V-hull for better control in rougher waters.
This boat has a much sturdier skin (literally) compared with others in its class. The SeaArk 2072 VJ has thicker hull aluminum, a more robust keel and an over-sized cap rail with an accessory track. Start adding accessories (there are MANY to choose from) and this boat really begins to stand out.
It’s ready for fishing, hunting and every utility application, but SeaArk Boats also presents a solid swimming and water sports platform in the 2072 VJ. Choose a larger outboard from their wide selection, then add their stainless steel swimming ladder and you are ready to play!

A Boat of Many Modifications
A cursory examination of the SeaArk 2072 VJ elicits a nod to its design and purpose but leaves a boater wondering “What makes this craft different than other models?”.
Scratch the surface and look deeper, that’s where these boat designers make their mark. If you can add it to a jon boat, you will probably find it on SeaArk’s list of mods. There are so many accessories available to modify a 2072 VJ that you can create the exact boat you desire.
SeaArk Boats provide a great collection of DIY tools that attach to the boat’s built-in cap rail track. They’ll paint your boat in a variety of colors and offer alternate upholstery patterns. You can choose a center or side console with added storage, a live well, various lighting options, etc., all the common offerings for a Jon boat.
But, get a cabin installed on a 2072 VJ, then you know you have something different. Bimini tops, stainless add-ons, numerous gauges, multiple live well options, a V-belly fuel tank, a captain’s chair – these are the kinds of uncommon fare that SeaArk offers and sets them apart.
Performance
If you’re wondering about handling and stability in this jon boat, the SeaArk 2072 VJ specs tell the tale. A V-hull means this boat is better prepared for more difficult waters. Wide at the bottom and beam with foam-filled seats, the 2072 VJ is ready for steady.
The SeaArk 2072 VJ is made for an outboard and able to handle anywhere from 90 to 175 hp. A 90 hp motor can meet most boater’s needs and will see this vessel reach a smooth, steady plane. A bigger outboard on the 2072 VJ will definitely do more, faster, but be sure to use caution in the turns!
Cut to the Chase
By all available measures, the SeaArk 2072 VJ is an excellent choice of Jon boat, well-suited for numerous water-related tasks. The 2072 VJ is built out of heavier materials than other boats but is well-balanced and carefully-crafted. It can be modified from the manufacturer to better meet an owner’s needs and also has many DIY options.
However, to make a better judgment regarding this boat’s value would require a sticker price for the new product. The biggest obstacle a potential buyer will face when purchasing a SeaArk 2072 VJ will be pricing. Without submitting to a person-to-person contact quote system, finding the price of a new SeaArk is difficult.
We’ve talked to some salesmen who have newer models from 2022 and 2023 for under $60,000. So, we imagine a ballpark figure of $50k-$65k for a boat with the right accessories.
All things considered, the SeaArk 2072 VJ seems to be a superbly made vessel with lots to offer both before and after the purchase.
