Works great on fiberglass boats. Finishes smooth, goes on easy. Remember a proper primer and ensure the gelcoat is in good shape. The Sharkskin is an epoxy paint for a clean hard finish with a relatively high copper component to prevent growth. This paint is not allowed in Washington State and most marinas in California. But it works very well nonetheless.
Our Overall Review
We have thoroughly tested - and read reviews from other experts and users. In summary, this is what we think:
Things we like:
-
No copper biocides make it acceptable in Washington State, California, as well as inland Sweden where regulations are crazy strict
-
Self-polishing for a prettier finish
-
Is effective on all types of craft
-
Can be applied over existing antifouling ablative marine paints
Things we don't like:
If the boat stays still too long, some growth can be expected.
