Red Suricata Beach Canopy boasts unmatched quality and comfort
Despite the market being filled with beach umbrellas and canopies of all kinds, there aren’t many high-quality models that stand the test of time. A good chunk of them can be easily blown away by the wind, others take forever to install, and some are made from cheap materials that are prone to corrosion. Red Suricata Beach Canopy is none of the above.
It’s anchored with the help of sandbags just like the BeachBUB Umbrella and has a UPF 50 rating like the Tommy Bahama Beach Umbrella. But unlike these high-profile umbrellas, Red Suricata offers a big shade area. It also comes in two sizes — 7’3″ X 7’3″ (Medium) and 10’ X 9′ (Large) — that help you make a choice depending on the number of people that plan on using the canopy.
Sure, it comes with a hefty price tag. But if you consider the many features like the water-repellent fabric, two handy hooks, and a spacious carry bag that the beach canopy comes with, the investment will pay off sooner rather than later. Even this umbrella’s faults didn’t faze us enough not to conclude that it’s worth checking out.
Construction, Design, and Performance
Red Suricata Beach Canopy is quick and easy to install
We were pleased with the build quality of this beach canopy. Featuring Polyester, Aluminum, Plastic, and Tarp, it boasts a UPF rating of 50. This is enough to protect you from the dangerous UV rays and prolong your stay at the beach. If your kids tend to throw tantrums when it’s time to go home, Red Suricata might just be able to extend the fun at the beach in time to choose the right moment to up and leave.
The setup process is easy, too: it involves laying out the canopy on the ground, pulling out the empty sandbags as far as possible, and filling them with sand using the mini shovel. It shouldn’t take you longer than 10-15 minutes to install it. After that, you’ll be able to manage the setup process in around 5 minutes.
Don’t forget to connect the two hooks to the poles so that you can hang your towels, clothes, and other beach accessories. No need to leave your stuff on the beach blanket if there’s a designated place for it.
Red Suricata Beach Canopy is spacious enough to fit up to 7 people
Although the beach canopy can get wobbly if you don’t secure it properly, we didn’t find that to be a common issue. It’s best to stabilize your umbrella extra well on the days when it’s extremely windy, but it’s still not likely to fly away. You can also use both poles with anchor screws and sandbags to ensure that the canopy stays put.
Once you’re done using your beach canopy, feel free to take it apart and pack it in the carry bag it comes with. This bag is spacious and waterproof, making it a convenient accessory to bring to the beach.
Final Thoughts
Red Suricata Beach Canopy is an excellent investment for families and friend groups who attend the beach semi-regularly. It’s a roomy canopy that can fit up to 7 people, including several beach blankets, picnic baskets, and other knickknacks.
It’s also easy to transport to and from the beach.
When you figure out how to install it, it shouldn’t take you long to set the canopy up and have a popsicle while lying on the warm sand in the shade. Just make sure to fill the sandbags to the brim so that the wind doesn’t end up tilting the canopy.
One word of advice — we wouldn’t recommend bringing it to a crowded beach since it occupies a significant amount of space.

Frequently asked questions about Red Suricata Family
A beach canopy has more sheltering elements than a beach umbrella. This means that if there’s no ventilation, a canopy can get stuffy. That said, beach canopies tend to be more stable and are oftentimes easier to install. They can also be more lightweight compared to beach umbrellas.
A good beach tent will cast ample shade and protect you from dangerous UV rays. It’ll also be portable and quick to install without you having to put in too much effort. Here are our favorite beach tents:

If you’re looking for a beach accessory that will protect you from the sun and have enough space to accommodate your friends and family, a beach canopy is your best bet. They can be slightly more expensive than beach umbrellas, but they’re most definitely worth the investment.
A 6-seater table should fit under this beach canopy fairly easily. What’s more, you’re likely to be able to stand under it too. So, feel free to buy it if you plan on installing picnic tables underneath.
