Leave the Stroller, Roll with Everything

Unlike many of today’s best folding carts, such as the Sekey Classic Folding Wagon and the Timber Ridge IRONWOOD ALL TERRAIN WAGON, the Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon With Canopy is intended for carrying 2 kids.

Nonetheless, this wagon is versatile and does more than just carry your toddlers. It can serve as a hauling cart, allowing you to transport heavy gear and items from point A to point B in a single trip. It also protects your kids from harmful ultraviolet rays (UV) on sunny days with a canopy.

This cart has three modes of use— a riding mode, hauling mode, and bench seating mode. With an easy folding mechanism and maneuverability, it is ready for your outdoor adventures with the whole family.

Features

This Radio Flyer cart is considered a three-in-one folding cart because it has three modes of use. Its Get Out and Play system offers a two-rider seating mode, hauling mode, and bench seating mode.

A two-rider seating mode allows you to transport two toddlers. Meanwhile, the hauling mode lets you load various equipment in the cart and move them from point A to B. Lastly, the bench seating mode provides comfortable seating for picnics or hanging out outdoors.

It is collapsible by pulling a strap in the middle of the cart flatly with one hand. When folded, it is compact and can slide into narrower spaces and corners, be it in your car or garage.

This wagon provides UV protection for your kids. When the sun is out, the canopy offers ample shade. This canopy has 4 telescopic poles that retract quickly when not in use.

The handle of this folding cart also has a telescoping mechanism. You can adjust its height for a comfortable maneuvering experience. When not in use, it stays in an upright position because of a magnet in the cart right between the two front pockets.

Featuring high seat backs and padded seats to ensure comfort it can substitute for a stroller, which is not always so easy to push (especially with one hand) and doesn’t have much in the way of cargo space. More importantly, this wagon passed the ASTM F963-16 Toy Safety Standard. Products that meet this rigorous standard are guaranteed safe for kids aged 1 ½ years old and above.

Moreover, the latest version of this cart has been integrated with seatbelts. These seatbelts provide additional protection for your kids, especially when navigating hilly or bumpy terrains.

This wagon is made of DuraClean fabric, which is easy to clean. This material is replaceable, so you can replace it if it breaks or rips. Further, it features a rear storage pouch for small items and valuables. Two cup holders are also integrated in front for storing your refreshments.

Note that this Radio Flyer utility Wagon, while heavy-duty and great for cargo, is not compatible with air tires. Nor does it work with a cooler caddy or storage bag.

What we like

You can fold this cart with just one hand. It is easy to fold and store, fitting in any storage compartment. Relatively, it is also lightweight. Whether you are keeping it at home or transporting it in your trunk, you won’t have difficulties finding space for it.

Consequently, this folding cart is easy to assemble. The same can be said about the canopy. Storage on the side is provided for the canopy when not in use. If you are strolling on a good day without the sun present, you will find this feature helpful.

Of course, we also appreciate the canopy of the Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon With Canopy. It works great under the scorching heat of the sun, providing ample UV protection for your kids. It proves useful during light rains, too.

This cart is easy to maneuver and turns relatively smoothly. It rolls, steers, and pulls easily, especially on flat surfaces and clear pavements. Indeed, it works great for short strolls along challenging terrains or long walks along easy paths.

This collapsible wagon’s DuraClean fabric is easy to maintain. If the worst happens and it rips or breaks, you can remove and replace it with a new fabric.

Since the Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon With Canopy is intended for carrying kids, safety features matter the most. The latest models now have seatbelts to keep your kids secure.

You can be confident transporting your kids using this cart, thanks to the ASTM F963-16 Toy Safety Standard. This certification means that toddlers as young as 1-year-olds can ride this wagon safely.

Another good thing about this wagon is that it is pretty spacious. It has enough legroom for two toddlers. Moreover, the seats are built high enough and with thick padding for additional comfort. If needed, a third child can also sit comfortably in the middle.

If you are using the Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon With Canopy to transport various items in one go, you will like the roomy compartment. A storage pouch at the back comes in handy for small items, while the two front cupholders can accommodate your beverages nicely.

What we don’t like

One issue that many users deal with is this cart’s wheels. They tend to fall off when the cart is lifted. During our research, we found a couple of instances where they even fell off during use on bumpy terrain. This problem can be dangerous if you are not mindful or careful while transporting your kids using this cart.

After a few months, the front wheels can get sand and dirt in them making them tricky to pull. As you use this cart over time, you may experience wheels getting stuck while in use. Using a brush to remove any particles fixes this, but it would be better if it came with more durable all-terrain wheels that can course through any surface.

A foot brake would also be a welcome improvement for the Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon With Canopy. Right now, there is no way to lock the cart in place. Essentially, you can’t be confident about leaving your kids unattended while riding this wagon.

Conclusion

If you need a versatile and functional folding cart for one or two kids plus all the gear you’d otherwise haul in a backpack, this particular Radio Flyer cart is a good choice for you.

While this cart is built for carrying toddlers, it may also be used to transport up to 150 lbs of cargo. As noted earlier, the wheels are something of an issue

The three modes of use allow you to carry your kids while on a stroll, haul stuff, or even have your kids sitting comfortably on a fine afternoon at the beach.

One of the best features of the Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon With Canopy is the retractable canopy. You can easily set it up when the sun is up to protect your kids from harmful UV rays. When it is not in use, you can retract and store it on the back outer sleeve.

Radio Flyer sells another EZ Fold Wagon without a canopy. But for a little extra the canopy is a good investment as it can’t be added onto the cheaper model later. There’s also a push & pull version of this one that costs quite a bit more (around $200) but it also provides a more pram-like experience.

Overall, this collapsible cart is a good investment for a get outside easy. It proves useful whenever you go out for a walk at the park or hit the beach.
