Construction and Design

With this pop-open tent you get a carrying bag, and a small pouch with pegs and ropes.

Technically, this Easthills Outdoor Beach Tent combines 185T polyester fabric and a fiberglass frame. Polyester is used in a lot of outdoor gear and apparel. Whether it’s a beach canopy, beach chair, beach blanket, or a beach wagon, there’s undoubtedly a polyester-made model.

Although heavier than nylon, it’s cost-effective, durable, and water-, tear- and wrinkle-resistant. And since it’s a rigid fabric, it also provides better stability. You won’t have to worry about your beach tent sagging over time. It also won’t end up like a parachute after repeated use like with the thin and stretchy fabric of the Neso Tents Portable or other beach canopies.

The fiberglass frame fits the shape correctly and is corrosion- and rust-proof. It’ll stand the test of time when handled properly and you won’t notice much wear and tear. Aluminum is still more durable but most affordable and reasonably-priced beach tents are framed with fiberglass.

The joints are typical pitfalls, and the Easthills Outdoors Instant Shader Deluxe Beach Tent has questionable ones. You need to take extra caution when setting/folding it up, so you don’t snap them accidentally. Features

This beach tent has some features that make it stand out from others. It has five mesh pockets, a pair on each side, plus another overhead. You can keep sunscreen, chapstick, a water bottle, or beach towel, within easy reach. There’s also a little hook that you can use to hang a light.

Three mesh windows and a central opening help air flow through the beach tent for ventilation. You can also zip up the entrance for privacy. The TAVGO Pop-Up Sun and Outdoor Master also give you a zip up door for privacy, but you won’t get this entirely with the Mobihome since the entrance is not fully covered.

Outside, there’s a lash point and O-ring in each corner, and there are sandbags you can fill to anchor the tent in each section. They’re a staple must-have for any beach tent to endure winds. Even more basic pop-up models like the Gorich and the ISILER Automatic have them.

These little features are super handy for a comfortable experience using the Instant Shader Deluxe Beach Tent. Nothing extravagant, but the convenience they bring is vital for a laid-back time at the beach.

Performance

How well does the Easthills Outdoors Instant Shader Deluxe Beach Tent perform against the sun, wind, and rain? Is it easy to assemble and fold? How packable is it? Here’s an honest look into its functionality in real-life situations.

Stability

Light winds won’t blow away this beach tent as long as there’s enough sand packed into the bags and the pegs are deeply set. The frame won’t easily collapse either. And if you have stuff inside, like a cooler for drinks, and beach chairs, they’ll help hold it in place. With strong winds though it may struggle to stay up.

Weather Protection

Like most beach tents, this one from Easthills Outdoors has UPF50+ protection. It provides an excellent barrier from harmful UV rays, keeping 98% of them from reaching your skin. Make the most out of your fun day without worrying about sunburn.

And with the curtains by the mesh windows, you can roll them down when the sun changes angle. It is one benefit that lightweight counterparts, beach canopies, usually lack.

The Easthills Outdoors Instant Shader Deluxe Beach Tent isn’t as water-resistant as we hoped. Although it has a PU coating, even drizzles still penetrate through within a relatively short period. The Outdoor Master Pop Up and Coleman Beach Shade have better rain protection.

Ease of Use

The 2-way zippers at the front opening glide smoothly whether accessing it from the inside or outside.

Inside, you can definitely fit more than just a low beach chair. Even a few tall camping chairs wiil fit. At 57″ tall, it has a good amount of room to even stand up. It can provide shelter for around four but if it’s all adults, it may be a bit tight.

Once you get used to setting up this beach tent, you can have it ready in less than a couple of minutes. How do you assemble it?

• Take it out of the carry case
• Flare out the fabric and the legs
• Raise the center hub of the tent as high as you can and then pull the strings from the hub
• Straighten out the lower sections of the front poles
• Load up the sandbags, bury them for more stability
• Attach the strings to lash points and anchor the pegs deeply
• Tighten up the lines to create tension via the toggles

After that, you have your beach tent up and ready!

Some customers complain about how it can be a pain to disassemble and pack, but we didn’t have this issue. It might require some practice,but  just like setting it up, it doesn’t take too long to get the hang of it.

• Pull down the primary mechanism on top to collapse the beach tent
• Fold up the lower sections of the front poles
• Gather the fabric around the frame
• Use the included strap to compress it down before fitting it inside the bag

Portability

You can literally bring this beach tent anywhere with its carry case. It collapses into 41” x 8.5” x 8.5” and weighs 3.6 kgs.  It is heavier than other beach tents like the OILEUS at roughly 2 kg. and the lightest ones come in around 1 kg. only- the Gylmnis, Alvantor Coolhut, and ISILER Automatic. But lighter tents will have trade-offs, most often they’ll be less sturdy and have less features.

The carry case construction doesn’t seem very durable. It would be better if it was a bit bigger, so there was no stress on the seans. Stowing the beach tent would be easier too.

Conclusion

For under $90, the Easthills Outdoors Instant Shader Deluxe Beach Tent is a reasonably priced option. It has good shading, a bit more space, UV protection, easy set up, and stability. Although it’s not perfect, this beach tent will last many beach trips and won’t spoil your fun. The polyester/fiberglass combo is durable enough to hold its shape and won’t break even after a lot of use.

Its refreshing look will keep you cool during scorching summer days. Combine this with proper ventilation and the ability to have some privacy and it is one of our top beach tent picks. It’s pretty easy to assemble too. Pop it up on your selected spot in under a couple of minutes.

Like most models with identical framing, this beach tent from Easthills is tricky to fold and pack. The small carry bag doesn’t help either.
